Each woven clutch is handmade from straw raffia, a renewable, sustainable, and biodegradable material by women artisans in the countryside of Madagascar, an island east of Africa. The raw materials are naturally hand dyed and woven into these beautiful and unique pieces! With over 80% of the population of Madagascar living below the poverty level, it is imperative to support artisans with fair trade & fair wage practices to sustain families, communities & artisan traditions. The artists that create these clutches are proudly paid fair wages to continue the tradition of artisanal handmade products.
